The Cinta Senese pig probably has its origins in antiquity and was bred more than 1000 years ago, mainly in the Siena area (Senese). It is medium-sized, dark gray with black spots and a light band (cinta), lives outdoors all year round and feeds on what is available in the forest, such as acorns, mushrooms, berries and roots.
