Semi di Tuscia
Semi di Tuscia is a young organic farm that lovingly harvests aromatic, medicinal plants and fruits by hand and produces wonderful oils, soaps, spices, tea and jams.
Philosophy
On little more than five hectares of fertile volcanic soil of Lake Bolsena near Marta, Stella and Lorenzo are realizing their dream of farming with dedication, harvesting and processing with care.
They left their jobs as physicists and nonprofit fundraisers and their lives in the city to learn the ancient art of respectful farming. Respect for land, weather, seasons, natural resources and biodiversity is essential to them. They create an agriculture that lives with nature and does not exploit it.
Plants and Cultivation
When caring for the plants, the focus is on their physiological balance. Ancient practices maintain soil fertility, limit soil erosion, and use water as efficiently as possible. From choosing the seeds to selling the products, they try to understand the complex dependencies within the ecosystem as best as possible. They continuously learn from nature and from others.
For the mechanical work, they opted for a small tractor that, thanks to its light weight, does not burden the ground too much. Semi di Tuscia does not use chemicals, pesticides or products that interfere with the structure of the plants.
Bio certification
For Stella and Lorenzo, trust and transparency between producers and consumers are the only way to realize the desire for healthy food together.

Herbs and..
When it comes to fresh herbs and spices, one quickly thinks of the somewhat sad bundles that you find wrapped in plastic in the refrigerated shelves of supermarkets. Most of the time they even smell a bit spicy.
But instead, imagine the intense scent of a plant that’s still in the ground. Stella and Lorenzo would like to bring exactly this intense spicy scent directly to your home.
The cultivation of herbs is an old tradition in Italy. People find health and healing in the nature of herbs. The bees, butterflies and other important insects come alive.
… the harvest
On dry, sunny days, they harvest the herbs exclusively by hand. They respect the balsamic time of each plant, during which the active ingredients reach their highest concentration, so as not to alter the organoleptic properties of the final product. They sort and remove any foreign material. For herbal drying, fruit processing and essential oil distillation, they rely on professional, trusted laboratories, carefully selected to create and strengthen local synergies. Leaves and flowers are dried and packed whole without losing the aroma and properties of the plant.
